What makes them so good? Why is she making such a good choice?
They have a button fly which is so much better (and really should be a requirement of all jeans).
Buttons are so much more substantial, easier to use, no worry of broken zips. 
You also have the option of this really cool look: top button can be left undone and the waist can be rolled down. (This works best if the jeans are oversized. I think the best moment for this look is when you are leaving the beach and you throw the jeans on over a bikini with a nice cotton shirt left unbuttoned.)
The jeans are 100% cotton which means no microplastic pollution (for you or the environment) and a more breathable, longer lasting Jean. 
(I find that any jeans I have had with stretch in them begin to deteriorate after two years.)
